Amsterdam design group Rietveld Landscape and Dutch artist Erick de Lyon launched their project Bunker 599 + 603 late last year. They deconstructed one of the bunkers along the New Dutch Waterline, a defense line in the Netherlands used from 1815 to 1940. Using a bevy of equipment they split the building into two separate halves to reveal the hidden interior. The artists wanted to reinvent the closed off bunkers into accessible entities, to “create a public domain out of them.” Check out the captivating “Making of Bunker 599” video.
