KanjiSpy

We know a few things about traveling around Japan. Chances are that not everyone who gets the opportunity to explore Japan will have the über-talented Yuka Uchida from Trippples Nippples along for the ride to help navigate the streets and translate on the fly.

KanjiSpy is a new app for the iPad that helps to solve this conundrum. The app deciphers and explains common signs and phrases in kanji that will help keep you from going the wrong way down a one way street, walking in through the out door, or possibly awakening a slumbering Godzilla.

With an audio guide, high-res photos and over 150 individual kanji presented in simple, easy-to-understand categories, you'll be on the right track to explore Japan.

If Tokyo Rising inspired you to put your boots on and explore the Land of the Rising Sun, KanjiSpy will be a useful tool during your travels.
